I’ve known Sean Morahan from A Laugh And A Half since I met him on the comedy circuit in 2014.
Since 2015, I’ve run a show ‘The Funniest Comedians You’ve Never Heard Of’ – a collaboration with Christina Van Look and Peter Green, and occasional guest comedians. We had performed the show over several years at comedy festivals – and we got a great response from the people who came to the show – but I was frustrated by our low ticket sales.
We did all the things that we were ‘supposed’ to do to sell tickets, including the advice provided by the festivals themselves, but we still struggled to sell enough tickets to our shows.
I saw that Sean has a great ability to attract high quality audiences to comedy shows (his own shows, and others) but he also seems to attract the right audiences to the right comedy shows. In the long time I have known him, Sean has consistently demonstrated this phenomenal ability – to bring audiences and comics together.
I hired Sean to help promote our shows and since then he has helped us to sell out shows in comedy festival runs over two years, as well as sell out a 160-seat one-off special event show (and ensure the show was profitable for everyone involved).
Amongst comedians, when we are performing at other shows and get a great audience, we even refer to them as ‘a Sean audience’.
I have also attended Sean’s comedy marketing training, which I found incredibly helpful in preparation for my next comedy project.
Based on my years of experience with Sean, I can happily recommend Sean and A Laugh And A Half to attract the right audiences to your show or to your venue.

I’ve known Sean Morahan from A Laugh And A Half for six years.
The first time I got comedy marketing advice from Sean, he gave me a method that saved me hours of work and hundreds of potential lost ticket sales.
In our most recent discussions, Sean gave me advice on how to help my comedy shows stand out with unique positioning in a competitive comedy market. So far, I’m only part way through implementing his suggestions, but I’m already getting great results with my last three shows all selling out.
Sean was also instrumental in helping me secure a new venue after I outgrew a previous venue.
If Sean is available, I recommend him to help you get dramatically better results, much more quickly with your comedy.

Leading up to last year’s Fringe Festival I was anxious about the lack of ticket sales for my debut solo show, especially as I was working on preparing and rehearsing the show. With a bit over a week to go, I contacted Sean Morahan for help.
At extremely short notice, and in the middle of him promoting his own run of 30 shows, Sean did so many things to help publicise my show and help me sell tickets, including:
- Getting my show featured on the front page of a prominent event website.
- Having me interviewed on prime-time radio.
- Writing some ‘killer’ blurb for my show.
- Designing and placing advertising for my show.
- Helping me sell plenty of tickets for my shows, including a sell out on the final night.
- Sharing a strategy to get audience members to come to my future shows.
Having Sean look after my marketing also freed me up in that crucial last week to focus on performing my best, and my show was subsequently nominated and shortlisted for Best Comedy at the festival.
I have already booked Sean to help with my marketing again this year. If you are serious enough about your comedy to want to market it effectively, I don’t know anyone better than Sean Morahan to do it.

When it comes to selling tickets to shows there’s only one person I turn to, Sean Morahan. I have had the fortunate pleasure of working with and knowing Sean through comedy for many years, and over that time I have always been running rooms and projects. Sean’s knowledge, attention to detail, dedication, and ability to communicate have always been a major benefit to the success of these endeavours.
Take my latest project, the Ettamogah Comedy Club. Approaching opening night on a tight schedule with minimal sales, I reached out to Sean for some advice. I was stressed, overwhelmed, and not sure what to do. I was doing so much! Money behind ads, posts, videos. Nothing was working!
Sean did an analysis and line check from a consumer perspective and instantly identified multiple barriers to sales. Clunky ads, redirects to the wrong place, and other oversights as a result. He gave me an action plan to institute and remove those barriers. I did and instantly saw sales improve.
Then Sean did a check up on my targeted strategies and was able to not only identify but also communicate some of the reasons current strategies were not performing and suggest some others that might. Once again I saw an instant increase in ticket sales when I followed Sean’s advice.
I have also worked with Sean through his comedy rooms and seen the result of Sean’s vast knowledge regularly. As a comedian I perform to sold out rooms with Sean more than any other promoter. As an event organiser and promoter myself, I have seen the direct ROI dramatically improve by following the advice of Sean and will continue to utilise his services in the future.
If you need advice and help marketing, and more importantly, SELLING shows! Get Sean Morahan on your team today!
